Kawasan Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world with its bright blue waters. Located on the island of Cebu in the Philippines. Keep reading for my guide to visiting these falls, everything you need to know, how to visit, what to see and where to stay.

Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls
This is the most exciting and adventurous way to see the falls. You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the starting location where you will meet your skilled guide. At this point, you will receive your helmet and life vest. You will then take a short hike down to the river. Then it’s time to jump in!
While this can be a bit scary for some of us, me included, it’s a really great way to see the river, canyons, and falls. You will need to jump off moderately high rocks and cliffs but the higher jumps all have alternate hikes down.
Floating down the bright blue waters in rocky canyons will be a memory you won’t soon forget! Once you reach the main falls you will break for lunch then be taken back to your hotel.
One tour company I suggest doing this tour with is Planet Action Adventure Philippines.
Kawasan Falls- Visiting on your own
I recommend visiting on your own if you want to get shots without the crowds. Now, you will have to get there pretty early to have the falls to yourself, around 6-8 am. It does cost 10PHP per person to enter the parking area(this is about 20 cents USD). When we arrived at 6 am there was no-one there yet to collect the fee so we paid as we left.
The best way to get to Kawasan Falls is to rent a scooter, rent the evening before since you will be leaving early. We were able to rent one from our hotel. Google Maps will be your friends to get to the falls, my advice is to buy a SIM card once you enter the country to replace yours with, then you will have cell service throughout your trip. Put Matutinao Church into your map. You can park here for a small fee for a guy to watch your scooter for you while you are gone. Then follow the road/path to the right of the church.
From here you will arrive at the main falls first.
What To See
The main attraction is the main falls. Here there is also a small hotel and restaurant. From the main falls you can hike up a little to the dam, lots of famous pics taken here, I have one below. If you keep going you will come to a spot where you can swing into the water and just past this is a beautiful pool with small waterfalls. All throughout the area, the water is the gorgeous bright blue you see in all my pics.

Where to Stay
The most popular area to stay is in or near MoalBoal, this about a 25-35 minutes drive to the falls depending on where you are staying. Moalboal is known for world-class diving and there is a beautiful beach there, White Beach. There is also one small hotel at the main falls area but it looks like they may do walk-ins only, no advanced bookings. My top hotel choices in and near MoalBoal are below.
- Badian Island Wellness Resort
- Dolphin House
- Blue Orchid Resort
- Quo Vadis Dive Resort
- Turtle Bay Dive Resort
Enjoy your time at the falls and please leave it as you found it, no trash left behind! Tag me in your Facebook(Bella World Travel LLC) and Instagram(@her_travelstory) pics and stories- let me know you used my guide!
